Hide-and-seek in the dense tropical forest

Oriental Pavilion is home to a wide variety of animals and plants native to south of Himalayan region and tropical Asian countries. Features animals include the crested black macaque, native to Indonesian islands, a large ape black-haired ape with distinctive kidney-shaped, bright pink ischial callosities (the lower back part); the toque macaque, a reddish-brown-colored monkey endemic to Sri Lanka, with a small patch of fur on the top of their head that looks like a little hat; the Himalayan monkey, a common monkey in India that can endure coldness at elevations up to 3,000 meters; the white-handed gibbon, an endangered species found in Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand, known for monogamous family life, and the reticulated python, one of the most impressive snakes of Southeast Asia for its greatest size.

Inside the Pavilion an enormous dome houses a dense tropical forest, which is home to alligators swimming the water and long-armed gibbons hanging onto trees. The layout for monkeys in the north and reptiles in the south is ecologically concerned for all animals and plants.
