Large Herbivores Pavilion

The largest living animals roaming around the prairie

In the Large Herbivores Pavilion, visitors can observe the largest living land mammals native to Asia and Africa in one location: Asian elephants, enjoying their daily life, splashing water or playing with a log using the long nose; the Ankol-Watusi domestic cattle native to North America with huge horns; the Asian water buffalo that loves water, of course, and due to its gentle character, domesticated in many Asian countries; the American bison, the heaviest animal that once freely roamed in herds around the American continent; the large sub-Saharan bovine called the African buffalo, which is large, formidable and prone to attack humans and other animals using horns, and the white rhinoceros, the second largest land mammal after the elephant, with a distinctive square jaw.

At the Large Herbivores Pavilion, visitors can meet with large animals in the indoor hall or the outdoors field depending on the season and preference of the animals. In the indoor hall, you can watch grand animals from a much closer distance.
