Lesser Panda Enclosure

The charming acrobat in the forest

Discover this remarkable mammal in its new enclosure, recently designed as an arboreal habitat to support its natural skill as an expert tree-climber.
With an appearance that uniquely blends the features of a bear, raccoon, and cat, the red panda subsists on a specialized diet primarily consisting of bamboo, fruit, and insects.
Being a nocturnal creature, it marks its territory by rubbing secretions from urine and anal glands onto trees and rocks.

Recognized as an internationally endangered species, fewer than 10,000 individuals remain worldwide.
Its survival is jeopardized by high sensitivity to environmental changes, a vulnerability attributed to its specialized diet, low reproductive rate, and sparse population density.
